Internet telephony uses VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) to make and receive phone calls using your broadband Internet connection instead of your standard phone line.
Using MicroTalk Hosted IP Centrex service you do not need a traditional PBX installed in your office. Incoming calls can be answered and routed by our servers to any phone, wherever it is. So you can have a switchboard that is routing sales calls to Halifax and technical support calls to Hanover, and all OnNet calls are free.
You can make VoIP calls using a PC-Phone, or you can connect an IP Phone directly into your internet enabled network.
Unlike legacy PBXs, where features are limited to premises-based users, Hosted PBX features are supported across multiple sites. This capability allows users to forward voice mails or transfer calls anywhere in the organization using private dial plans.
